Two Ladies & Their TVs

We love our shows so much we created a blog for it.

About the Ladies

athenawj is a writer-mama-artist-editor-blue ribbon junkie who can't get enough of her favorite t.v. shows (and the ridiculous amount of videotapes in her house proves it). She's owned various t.v.s for awhile, but only recently discovered the joys of OnDemand.

Bah. I can't believe they preempted L&O for the Katie Couric special on teenagers and sex. Couldn't relate then and can't relate now. Was so looking forward to seeing Annie Parisse's performance, too...

I won't even watch Katie Couric. Her and her perkiness bug the crap out of me.

Sorry I didn't review SVU last night, but there wasn't much that I wasn't meh over about it. Bring on the sweeps and the better episodes!

I dislike her too. Saw her trying to relate to the teenagers by making hand signs and playing football with them. You would've really loved that, heh.

I hear you on the SVU eppy - even R was like, "Are they making Mariska the star of the show now?" The plot was interesting, but there was just too much her.

Y'know, it was nice to see Munch finally get some lines again, and the part where John Savage broke down and said he hadn't ever meant to hurt the kids he molested got to me (very strong performance there), but the rest of the episode... didn't it seem like a rehashing of old plots? Racing against the clock before a serial killer (or molester, in this case) is executed, Benson is stalked yet again, the perp becomes the victim... other stuff rang familiar for me but that may be because I've been watching L&O for ten years now.

I actually started laughing when Olivia kept asking the guy they'd *thought* killed Deacon, "Why me? Yes, but why me? Why me?" It just went on and on! To be fair to Benson, which I'm usually not, she did well in the scenes with Savage.

I just read recently that appendicitis can take awhile to recover from, so I'm not thinking Stabler's extended absence was so much horse hockey now.

When's the next new one?

Re: Katie Couric. Oh, I would have yakked seeing that. :)

Old plots, true, but who the real perp was surprised me, so that was an interesting twist. Agree on the nice performances. I kept wondering myself, "Why Olivia?" when she asked why she was being stalked. Heh.

What's this appendicitis thing? I must've missed that somewhere.

Just checked - 2/8 for the next new SVU, 2/9 for the next new "Lost," but no word on the next new Mothership. They can't leave me dangling like that, now that the Cardboard Lesbian is finally gone!
